This selective collection indicator shows the percentage of municipal waste that is collected separately by citizens and businesses in order to be able to recycle it, and thus save resources and energy necessary for the manufacture of products.

GSC = gross selective collection // The other fraction includes the following selectively collected waste: vegetal and gardening waste, metals, non-packaging plastic waste, wood, textiles, bulky waste, batteries and other selective collections.

Separate collection has increased very slightly between 2010 and 2021, with an increase of only 3 percentage points.
The fraction that has grown the most in separate collection in this period is light packaging, with 39% growth, followed by the organic fraction with 9% growth.
